SonDance seeks to facilitate opportunities for dancers of all kinds to use their gifts in a special way to worship the LORD, and to lead and serve the congregation.
[Jeremiah 31:4]
Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin Israel! Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines and shall go forth in the dance of the merrymakers.
SonDance is a team of youth and adults who join together to serve using dance. Dancers of all disciplines and backgrounds are welcome to participate in the ministry. While dance experience is preferred, it is not required—God’s calling is what matters. Men and women are equally welcome. Our primary mode of ministry is periodic dances presented during Sunday services. Each dance is treated as an individual project and involves different combinations of dancers and disciplines. Our goal is threefold. With each dance project, we seek to:
[Worship] Use our art form to create something beautiful that elevates the praises of our Great God, pointing to and bringing Him glory.
[Lead] Use our entire bodies as living sacrifices, setting an example of worship stemming from our freedom in Christ that will inspire those who watch to greater boldness in their own demonstration of worship.
[Serve] Be willing tools in the hand of God as we beseech Him to pour out His Spirit on our dancing and use it to speak to us and to those who watch as He wills.
