Reading the Old Testament in 2010
In 2009, First Free completed our adventure reading through the New Testament together. In 2010, we’re continuing our journey through the Bible beginning with the book of Genesis in the Old Testament. By reading about 1 chapter per day, we’ll read through the whole Old Testament in two years. In 2010, we’ll read the historical books, Genesis through Esther, and in 2011 we’ll read Job through Malachi (wisdom literature and prophets).
For many people the Old Testament is a bit harder to understand than the New Testament. If you’re interested in a little help, we have copies of the book, What the Bible is All About. This book, written by Henrietta C. Mears, is available for $12 in the Welcome Center.
As we did in 2009, we encourage you to journal on your reading to get the most out of it. Journals are also available for sale in the Welcome Center.
