Reading Through the Old Testament

Led by Wade Reed, Senior M.Div. student at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School

First Free has launched an exciting, church-wide initiative to read through the entire Old Testament together starting in January 2010. Since it can be difficult for many people to fully understand this portion of scripture due its breadth and cultural distance from a 21st century American context, we are offering this course to help encourage and equip one another for the journey.

Class participants will experience clarifying commentary on some of the most important (and some of the most difficult to interpret) narrative arcs, themes, and concepts running through the first thirty-nine books of the Bible. In addition, they will be encouraged to contribute their own insights from their personal devotional readings following the schedule of the church-wide Old Testament reading path.

Please bring a Bible, a journal, a pen or pencil, and a readiness to learn from and with others.
