First Free Children/Family Ministries is:
Bible Centered: The Bible will be held as our primary source book, curriculum and guide in decisions, lesson/message preparation. We will read it, apply it to our lives and communicate it to kids and others.
Relational: God created us for relationships with Him and with others. Therefore we will focus on helping kids develop a personal relationship with God and genuine healthy relationships with peers, parents and other adults.
Innovatively Creative: Kids should never enter or exit our ministries and have to say “that was boring.” Therefore, we will provide ministry experiences that target and attract churched and un-churched kids. We should always be asking: If kids could choose between coming to church or some other cool place, are our ministries attractive and innovative enough to cause them to choose church?
Culturally Aware: Our message is timeless and will never change, however as times and culture continue to change our methods of communicating this message will ALWAYS change to meet current needs of the kids and families we serve.
Kid Safe: We provide safety through:
A. Environmental Safety: Inspecting spaces and people
B. Emotional Safety: Refusing to label kids
C. Spiritual Safety: Remaining sound in what we teach
Supportive to Families: We aim to strengthen whole family units, by supporting parents, coming alongside them to help them raise godly children who influence in positive ways.
